You may feel quite sore following the birth or your baby, especially if there has been perineal damage (episiotomy or tearing). Wearing a cold compress inside your loose underwear may help ease the discomfort; make sure you change the gauze frequently to prevent infection.

Make sure you have a cushion with a hole to sit on too, such as the Harley Designer Ring Cushion. You may find wearing a thick maternity pad will also help.

A few drops of Zita West's Restore and Renew Therapy oil in a warm bath will aid healing, and her Comfort Down Under Cream will help soothe the wound. If your pregnancy or birth has left you with hemorrhoids, try our Bottom Sprays or Rhoid Balm.

Moving forward, you may also find that your pelvic floor muscles have weakened, in which case we have sourced a fabulous pelvic floor toner by Bodyclock, which can also be used as a Tens machine for postnatal pain relief.

Take a look at the Perineal Care under Postnatal Recovery for more information.
