Mains or battery operated, the Ameda Lactaline (known in USA as the Ameda Purely Yours) is portable, light and robust but most importantly it has two controls, one for the intensity of the suck and the other for the rate of the suck. This allows you to mimic what the baby does: quick sucks to begin with and then slow down once the milk starts to flow. i.e. it helps with the let down reflex. 

It operates on a closed system meaning that there is no risk of cross contamination - you can lend it or borrow it without worrying about infection as long as you use a new collection kit!
