Why do I need a bedside cot?

• Minimal disturbance to mother and baby during night feeds (it is reported that co-sleeping breastfeeding mothers have a better night's sleep, and babies develop better sleep patterns)
• same psychological and bonding benefits as bedsharing without the associated anxiety that some mothers may feel
• proximity of the mother may encourage the baby to feed more frequently, which will in turn lead to more successful breastfeeding and faster thriving of the baby
• will strengthen mother/ baby bond and help baby to feel more secure
