Baby Bjorn
Bjorn Jakobson founded BabyBjorn after seeing a baby sitter on a trip to the US. After realising that there was nothing like this in Sweden, he started a company with his sister in law to manufacture a similar product. After a few difficult years with low sales, demand picked up and it also became a best seller in the US. During the 1970's, and at this time Bjorn Jakobson had three kids of his own, there was new research highlighting the benfit of parents carrying their babies. He therefore then developed a baby carrier that made it possible for parents to have this important physical contact with their babies and their hands free at the same time. The baby carrier, which was called "Hjärtenära", was tested with great success on the Jakobson family’s fourth child.
